Within its scope of self-government, the Regional Assembly:

  • adopts the Region’s Statute;
  • adopts the decisions and other acts of general application regulating the issues arising from the Region’s self-government scope;
  • adopts the budget, the decision on budget implementation and the annual calculation of Region’s budget;
  • adopts the Rules of Procedure;
  • decides on the cooperation with relevant local units in the Republic of Croatia and in other countries in accordance with law and the Statute of the Dubrovnik-Neretva Region;
  • decides on awarding charters, rewards and other public recognitions, establishes the Assembly’s working bodies and elects their members, appoints and dismisses other persons as defined by law, other regulations and the Statute;
  • reviews the semi-annual report on Head of the Region’s performance submitted by the Head of the Region;
  • requests and reviews the reports on individual issues within the Head of the Region’s scope of responsibilities;
  • calls a referendum to recall the Head of the Region and his deputies in accordance with law;
  • decides on the acquisition and disposal of movable and immovable property the total value of which exceeds 0.5% of the amount of income excluding receipts from the year preceding the year in which the decision is adopted concerning the acquisition and disposal of movable and immovable property, i.e. the individual value of which exceeds the amount of HRK 1,000,000.00 (one million kuna);
  • adopts the Regional Assembly’s work program;
  • governs the organization and the scope of Region’s administrative bodies;
  • establishes public institutions and other legal entities to carry out economic and social activities, utility services and other activities of interest for the Region;

  • provides authentic interpretations of the Statute and other acts it adopts;
  • carries out other duties within its scope of activities as determined by the law, the Statute of the Dubrovnik-Neretva Region or other regulations.
